Against the backdrop of an escalating mental illness crisis here in NZ, my work involves using evidence-based strategies to promote wellbeing across the entire school community in a meaningful and sustainable fashion. I will look at key terms (positive psychology, wellbeing, positive education), why the sudden interest in wellbeing in schools now, theoretical models that can be used as workable frameworks for promoting wellbeing and share elements of the pilot study I’ve been working on with the Bays Cluster schools.
As always our intention with these events is to strengthen our school leadership networks, this will be a great way to start the year catching up with other school leaders and hearing this inspiring speaker.
